Tell Congress to Support the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP)

  • van: Sue Lee

Every child deserves to have medical care as needed and should never be turned away because of issues with insurance. But if Congress does not act soon, children in America will be turned away from doctor and medical visits because of a lack of insurance.

The Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) has been providing necessary coverage for America's children for more than 18 years, but now Washington gridlock threatens the future of this necessary program.

CHIP was created to meet the needs of more than two million children whose families did not qualify for private insurance or Medicaid. The program was established through bipartisan efforts and it has been crucial for the health and well-being of children across America, resulting in less child mortality and kids missing school due to illness or injury.

Unless Congress acts, many children could be left without necessary medical coverage. They would either be dropped or forced to lose health coverage due to extreme higher costs for their families. Parents could face reduced benefits and higher out-of-pocket costs. Children could miss out on routine medical care, emergency services, and crucial hospital care.

Help ensure that children continue to receive the medical care they need and deserve through the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) — sign share this petition nationwide.

Dear Decision Maker,

As someone who cares about the health and wellbeing of children and families, I strongly urge you to do everything you can to quickly and fully fund the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
