Donald Trump and Pete Hegseth started a war with Iran, and instead of focusing on targeted, high-impact, strategic attacks, they just dropped as many shitloads of whatever weapons they had, wherever they could, as quickly as they could. So they could act macho and make ape noises at news conferences.
And now we're running out of these weapons. Because Trump and Hegseth apparently can't count, and used the weapons far more quickly than they replaced them.
And our troops are dangerously exposed.
The U.S. has reportedly burned through about 65% of its Patriot interceptor stockpile and more than a third of its THAAD interceptors. These weapons cost millions of dollars apiece and can take years to replace.
Meanwhile, Iran can deploy huge numbers of relatively cheap drones and missiles, forcing us to burn through enormously expensive interceptors to stop them.
Trump and Hegseth should have seen this coming. Ukraine has spent years demonstrating how large numbers of cheap drones can overwhelm expensive traditional defenses.
They didn't need a crystal ball. They just needed to read a newspaper. Literally ANY newspaper. This has been front-page news for years.
Congress must stop giving Trump and Hegseth a blank check to keep going and allowing their stupidity to be weaponized against the rest of us.
End this war. Bring our troops home. Rebuild America's defenses. NOW.
