Right-wing zealots, often backed by dark-money billionaires, have been packed into school boards across the country to wage a hateful crusade against the LGBTQ+ community and especially children.
One of the worst aspects of this demonization campaign is the push to remove any books on LGBTQ+ issues, characters, and experiences from school libraries for being inappropriately sexually explicit and an affront to their "religious beliefs."
Make sure our LGBTQ+ kids have access to books to inspire and guide them!
It's obvious that it's not the content of the books that bothers them, but the fact that they acknowledge the existence of LGBTQ+ people at all.
It's vitally important that young gay, queer, and trans kids have books in which they can see themselves and which discuss the very important issues that they face. This book-banning craze is an affront to American freedoms and must be put to an end.
