Global hunger is one of the most catastrophic moral and humanitarian disasters of our time. We cannot and must not stand by and watch as impoverished communities around the world continue to suffer from extreme hunger. Or worse, we cannot look away.
President Obama called for large-scale funding for programs to tackle the pandemic of global hunger and address its underlying causes. Congress has recently approved funding for global food security programs, but it fell $300 million short of the President’s request. That $300 million could change the lives of so many men, women and children — real people who, without this international support, could die from desperate hunger. We need every single dollar in order to help combat the growing hunger crisis that will only worsen as worldwide food shortages continue.
Global hunger has grave consequences for the safety and prosperity of our world. You can help make food security a priority and restore and empower families and communities around the world.
