Improve Newton County Government

The undersigned Newton County residents have submitted to the Board of Commissioners (BOC) the following list of suggestions to improve county government. The Board has been under strong public criticism for several months because of their failure to address a number of problematic issues. Members of the BOC have said that they are open to bona fide recommendations from responsible citizens as to how these issues can be addressed. The ideas listed below are not necessarily original or particularly ingenious, but we hope they create impetus for positive changes in our county government.

We ask that Newton County residents who agree with most or all of these suggestions to please sign this petition in order to encourage our BOC to take action to solve some of the many issues facing our county.
