These are critical conversations that are happening globally but there's an essential piece missing — a easy way to represent people power in emoji form! That's why we'd like to ask the Unicode Consortium for a protest emoji.

There are currently about 2,600 emojis available, not including the various skin tones one can choose to apply to some of the human ones. And the consoritum approves another 50-100 per year. Although this last few years have been tough, there has also been a beautiful uprising of citizen activism and Care2 is so here for it. We want to support activists in making a difference in the world around them and this is just another tool in doing so.
Whether you've marched for gun reform, women's rights, racial justice, or a cause that matters to you, we are all discovering our personal and collective power. Let's get an emoji that reflects that power.
