Dear BLM,
The mustang is a very unique animal. In the fact that these creatures are becoming endangered in their own habitat. The mustangs that you are capturing and rounding up to "control" their population is not working and is resulting in loss of genetic varability as well as horses from the range. However, the BLM aren't even equipped with statisticians and scientists to accurately understand the number of mustangs on the range, how much the range can support and the general ecosystem in which the mustang lives in. We challenge the BLM to understand that since they are in charge for taking care of the wild herds of mustangs there are better solutions rather than rounding them up. Scientific measures need to be taken to grasp a better understanding of the population and more needs to be done to make the public aware of the mustangs in facilities who are in need of adoption.
