Sherman County Officials are trying to force a 2000-acre organic farm that had maintained its organic status for 18 years to spray Roundup and other pesticides on their crops. If they don't, the officials will quarantine the property, douse it in pesticides and put a lien on the farm to pay for the labor and chemicals. What right do a few elected municipal officials have to destroy the food, the USDA certified organic status, the environment, and the livelihood of those running and working at Azure Farms in Moro, Oregon.
Please help Azure Farms fight back. Please sign this petition insisting that Sherman County officials stop this outrageous ecocide. The farm's manager is also asking people to phone Lauren, the court’s administrative assistant, at 541-565-3416 to voice their concern over the county’s outrageous policies. Sherman County may issue a court order requiring Azure Farms to spray Roundup and other toxic pesticides on the farm by as early as May 22 or to quarantine the farm while county officials spray the pesticides on the farm.
