The World Needs Women Scientists

As scientists around the world attack today's most pressing issues, it's more important than ever to have the best, most creative people in our research labs. But there is a major imbalance in the scientific community: women are dramatically underrepresented.

Many women lack the support they need to cultivate an interest in science, and those pursuing careers in science often face family and financial burdens - and gender bias - that put an academic or research career out of reach.

The Weizmann Institute of Science, as a basic research institution in a small country where intellectual capital is extremely valuable, has a long history of tackling this problem head on with initiatives to promote women in science, from education programs aimed at middle-school girls to research grants that enable a career in science and a family.

We need the world's brightest minds to solve humanity's biggest problems. Pledge your support today to help demolish the barriers keeping women out of science!
