CNA's of California DEMAND more ways of obtainig Continuing Education units to work without performance stress

Under the current format of renewing, there are no ways to renew without paying 155.00 and taking the skills and written test all over again. The only way to renew is to be in a LVN or RN program, or pay to do 24 online CEU’s. Where do we get the other 24 that are required in a two-year period?
They say if we are in a RN or LVN program we can get 15 units for every semester class. The state used to allow us to take Biology classes and other classes on the way to becoming RN or LVN or even in a Gerontology program, however now, if you don’t take the RN class as a CNA, you get no credit for any classes you are taking for your prerequisites to these programs.
The regimen they have for renewal is, if you are in a LVN or RN program and if you take classes you get 15 units for every 1 semester class, this does not make sense. We as CNA’s feel this is just a way for the state to make an extra $155.00 from each CNA. If we are in classes to go on with our education in the healthcare field, (including GERONTOLOGY) we should get Continuing education credits for the classes we take in a community college setting, or any setting that is approved by the CDPH for CEU’s.
