Drilling in the Arctic Refuge is NOT the answer to America's energy problems!
By now it's no secret that some politicians in Washington will stop at nothing to open the Arctic Refuge to oil drilling -including holding crucial legislation hostage to push this massively unpopular plan through Congress.
Whether it's the federal budget, funding for our troops overseas, or, most recently, legislation that would make our cars and trucks more energy efficient, no piece of legislation is safe from their dirty tricks. It's time to tell Congress to stop playing politics with the Arctic Refuge.

It's time to stop bending the rules for oil companies.
Oil companies are drowning in profits while families shell out a lot more for gasoline. But we can't drill our way to lower gas prices. Proposals to drill in the pristine Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, unspoiled landscapes in the Rocky Mountain West, and along America's fragile coasts won't provide relief at the pump. Any oil and gas found there would amount to only a drop in the bucket and wouldn't be available until the middle of the next decade. Allowing drilling in our last protected wild areas is nothing but another giant gift to oil companies and Arctic Refuge drilling has been a distraction from real energy policy for long enough.
I want a clean Congress and a clean energy plan.
Clean renewable energy sources and making our cars go farther on a gallon of gas are the best ways to reduce consumers' costs now and in the future. They are the fastest, cheapest, cleanest way to reduce families' energy costs, increase energy security, end our dangerous oil addiction, and reduce global warming.
