We are demanding culturally appropriate Mental Health care for Black, Asian, & Minority Ethnic communities in Leicester

Leicester is highly deprived, according to the Index of Deprivation 2010, ranking 25th most deprived of 326 local authority areas. It is clear from the numerous accredited research documents that clinical and health services alone are not enough to support people with mental ill health. We call on Leicester City Council and the Leicester Clinical Commissioning Group to fund culturally appropriate activities and services for vulnerable, mentally ill people, which utilises and recognises the skills and knowledge within our communities, by working in partnership.
