Tell the NJ Legislature: Block Gov. Christie's Clean Air Rollback

Toxic air pollution is at the root of thousands of hospital visits and premature deaths in New Jersey every year. But Governor Chris Christie wants to ignore public opinion and kill one of our most effective anti-pollution laws -- the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative.

Already, air pollution triggers more than a million asthma attacks a year in New Jersey. Giving polluters a free pass to dump even more toxic smog into our air will only put more kids and families at risk of asthma attacks, chronic bronchitis, and even neonatal and premature deaths.

Sign the petition calling on our legislators to step in and protect the air we all breathe from the Governor's rollback.
SUBJECT: Keep New Jersey in RGGI

Dear [Decision Maker],

I'm deeply concerned about Governor Christie's plans to yank our state out of the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative (RGGI) without even considering the opinions of citizens like me.

Killing one of our most successful and effective clean air protections will worsen global warming, hurt our economy and cause more emergency room visits for New Jersey's children and families.

Already, air pollution triggers more than a million asthma attacks a year in New Jersey. Giving polluters a free pass to dump even more toxic smog into our air will only put more kids and families at risk of asthma attacks, chronic bronchitis, and even neonatal and premature deaths.

I urge you to stand up for people, not polluters. Please do whatever it takes to block the Governor from taking New Jersey out of this vital, life-saving clean air program.
