When You Cut Hospitals, Emergency Rooms Suffer

Emergency rooms in America's hospitals provide care to millions of people each year, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

However, an astounding $24.5 billion in federal budget cuts since August, 2013--and the potential for greater cuts in the future, could threaten your ability to get timely care when the unexpected occurs.

Hospitals have been working tirelessly to improve the efficiency of their ERs, and the patient experience within. They're also branching out into the community to open urgent care and community facilities--bringing care closer to home, and reducing unnecessary trips to emergency rooms.

It seems some of our elected officials in Washington don't see the value in strong, efficient emergency rooms. Every dollar cut is making it more difficult for hospitals to keep ER wait times down.

We can't afford for Washington to play games with the health care of their constituents. Let your members of Congress know you support the efforts of America's hospitals to control and reduce ER wait times.
