This would not be possible without a stable, attainable system of child care parents can count on. HB24-1223 builds on the existing Colorado Child Care Assistance Program (CCCAP) that thousands of families already depend on.
HB24-1223 will streamline and strengthen the CCCAP program by creating a process that reduces administrative burdens for families, the state, and counties. This bill helps keep parents working by streamlining the application and eligibility process, making it less burdensome for them. Additionally, to keep the CCCAP program affordable to low-income Coloradans, HB24-1223 caps parent co-pays at 7% of their monthly income.
HB24-1223 made it out of the House and is now headed to the Senate for consideration.
