Previous controversial trade deals like TTIP, the US-EU trade deal, were negotiated in secrecy. These toxic deals threaten our public services, food regulations, and environmental protections, as well as give multinational corporations the power to sue the government for lost profits.

With our government already working on a future deal between the UK and Donald Trump’s USA, we know that our food safety standards, banking rules, the NHS, and the fight against climate change will once again all be at stake. It’s essential that legislation is passed guaranteeing that Parliament and the public can engage in a transparent process for negotiating and ratifying trade agreements.
