End Poaching in Africa's Selous Game Reserve

  • van: WWF
  • ontvanger: Tanzanian President John Magufuli
Heavily armed and well-trained criminal networks are destroying African elephants. They've turned poaching into an industrial scale global threat to wildlife across the continent. Elephants and lions in Selous, a large reserve in Tanzania, are especially at risk.

In 2014, UNESCO placed Selous Game Reserve on the List of World Heritage in Danger. Selous has lost 90 percent of its elephants and nearly all of its critically endangered black rhinos to poachers since then. Industrial projects have made it easier for poachers to access the park and to traffic illegal ivory. But you can help.

Tell the Tanzanian government to strengthen its wildlife management and protect both the reserve and surrounding areas.
