Stand up for Alaska's iconic wildlife!

President Trump's National Park Service is considering rolling back critical protections that prohibit cruel and aggressive hunting practices in Alaska's National Preserves.

The administration wants to allow increased killing of bears, coyotes, and wolves in a move that is tantamount to "predator control" — a scientifically indefensible method of manipulating wildlife populations that threatens native carnivores and could disrupt Alaska's fragile ecosystems.

Speak up now and urge National Park Service Director Dan Smith to reverse course and save Alaskan wildlife from senseless killing.

Subject line: Please protect wildlife in Alaska's National Preserves

Dear Director Smith:

Please direct the National Park Service to withdraw its proposal to allow the inhumane killing of bears, wolves, and other wildlife in Alaska's National Preserves.

America's bears, wolves, and coyotes should not be baited and killed at point-blank range, or shot with their cubs and pups in their own dens -- especially on our public lands.

These practices are tantamount to "predator control" -- a scientifically indefensible method of manipulating wildlife populations that threatens wildlife diversity and the stability of fragile ecosystems.

Most Americans -- including a majority of Alaskans -- oppose these antiquated practices. And tourists who travel to Alaska to see its unique wildlife contribute nearly five times as much to the local economy as hunters each year. It's simple math: these protections need to stay in place. I urge you to uphold them. Thank you.

Sincerely,
[Your name]
