Rep. Tubbs Jones passed away from a brain hemorrhage on August 19, and her gracious spirit and outstanding lawmaking will be missed.
A member of the House Ways and Means Committee and chair of the Ethics Committee, Rep. Tubbs Jones co-sponsored the Child Abuse Protection and Enforcement Act in 2000 and supported hundreds of other pieces of legislation on progressive causes. This is a profound loss of a strong advocate for civil liberties, women's rights, equality and reproductive rights.
