Hey Mitt Romney: Leave Big Bird Alone!

In October 3's presidential debate, Mitt Romney vowed to cut PBS programming, along with all other public broadcasting programs, from the budget. If Mitt claims to love Big Bird so much, why is he putting him on the chopping block?

Sesame Street has been educating youth commercial-free since 1969, but Mitt's proposed budget cuts to public broadcasting may remove his beloved Big Bird from TV forever.

Over the last year, Republicans have continued to try to defund the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which funds programs like PBS and NPR. All this, despite the fact that PBS support currently makes up only 0.012% of the federal budget.

Sesame Street is one of the best children's programs out there, a commercial-free safe place for kids to learn and be entertained. Romney can't cut it and the rest of PBS just because he's trying to make a statement. Tell Mitt Romney and the Republican Party: Leave Big Bird Alone!
We urge you not to compromise the education of our youth by taking away such valuable programs as Sesame Street. Thousands of Americans rely on public media for high-quality, commercial-free programming for our children and unbiased global and local news.
