Madeline Winternheimer was filmed beating a dog, and yanking on its leash so hard that the animal flew into the air.

"The woman, identified as 32-year-old Madeline Winternheimer, yanks on the leash so hard it flips the dog backward onto the sidewalk.
"In another part of the video, she can be seen repeatedly striking the dog every time it appears to try and walk forward," reported The Clarion Ledger.
What kind of human being could do this to a sweet little dog, who only wanted to give her its love?
"Once the community saw that video, we started getting calls from just about everyone. I have a very sympathetic community, especially when it comes to animals," said Crystal Springs Police Chief Chris Palmer.
We're so glad that little dog was rescued in time.
But what became of the wicked abuser?
Winternheimer was charged with a misdemeanor count of animal cruelty.
"The animal abuse charge can carry a fine of $1,000 and up to six months in jail," according to the same source.
What's to stop her from getting her hands on another dog?
Someone like her doesn't deserve to ever be around animals again.
Senator Bernie Sanders has been a long-term advocate for animal rights, and has co-sponsored numerous pieces of legislation to protect endangered species, as well as to combat animal cruelty.
