One in every 3,600 children born in Canada has cystic fibrosis (CF). It is the most common fatal genetic disease impacting Canadian children and adults and at present — and there is no cure.

While CF's severity differs from person to person, the persistence and ongoing infection in the lungs, with destruction of lungs and loss of lung function, will eventually lead to death in the majority of people with CF.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada is an internationally recognized leader in funding innovation and clinical care. Now, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we've moved our yearly Walk to Make Cystic Fibrosis History to a virtual format.

The generous fundraising efforts of our walkers, donors, partners, and volunteers have always been critical to helping realize our vision of a world without CF. The money raised from the walk funds access to life-changing medications, new research lab discoveries, and develops new treatments.

In these unprecedented times, we need your support more than ever to make this event a success and ensure the fight to find a cure for CF never slows down.

Participating is so easy — you don't even have to walk! You can create your own virtual at-home challenges like a stair climbing or push-up challenge or artistic expressions like song-writing and singing. However you choose to participate, your fundraising efforts are the most important part — we can't continue to do this work without your help.
