Trump Says U.S. Will Not "Allow or Accept" Any Transgender Person to Serve in Military. Demand the Ban Be Reversed.

On the morning of Wednesday, July 26, President Trump announced via twitter that "the United States Government will not accept or allow transgender individuals to serve in any capacity in the U.S. military". This action is discriminatory, unjustified, and adds to the stigma surrounding transgender Americans.

Transgender Americans are patriotic, noble people who should not be denied the opportunity to serve their country if they so choose. In instituting this ban, the President has reduced transgender Americans to second class citizens.

This also endangers the safety and privacy of non-open transgender individuals who are currently in service.

Join me in urging the President and his administration to reverse this ban on transgender service in the U.S. military.

A federal court has blocked President Trump in part from changing the military's transgender policy! This is a major step towards victory for transgender members of the military.

Defense Secretary Jim Mattis has announced that transgender troops will be allowed to continue serving in the military pending the results of a study by experts. Don't give up - our voices are making a difference.
