Need legal recourse to get medical treatment for 68 yr old mental health patient who is refusing treatment because of those awful patients' rights laws. Petition Requesting Court Ordered Treatment for Person with Depression and Psychosis

I have been trying to get my friend who is 68 yrs. old to get treatment for her mental problems as well as some physical problems, but because of the cruel and ill-advised Patients' Rights laws in Pennsylvania this woman who is now 97 lbs. is refusing to take her psychotropic medicine, even antibiotics as she has a Urinary Tract Infection. I heard you can get a Judge to intervene as I don't know how long she will live without treatment, but you need her psychiatrist to claim she is mentally incompetent to make informed medical decisions, which she is obviously as she has said she did not want to live anymore. She has even refused to eat or drink on occasion, which is why she is 97 lbs. I can only do so much as I am not a relative, her sister does not seem to want to take on the responsibility. She had an IV in her before I visited her in the hospital on the 26th of April, they wanted to put a new one on her, I saw it hanging there & asked why isn't that hooked up & she said she told them not to put it back on her. She is in a room that is videotaped without sound, wouldn't that suggest she is not of sound mind to make medical decisions. She is my only friend and this has been going on for months. My solution is that the doctors and nurses make her take her medicine and eat and drink so she can stay alive. That has to be done legally and I can only do so much.
