Urge President Obama to create Works Progress Administration
Although Pres. Obama promised to create jobs by encouraging green energy projects and public works efforts, it seems that little is moving along at a pace that will help reduce unemployment in a timely manner.
Please sign this petition urging the president to create a Works Progress Administration similar to that created by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt during his presidency.
Thank you for supporting this effort to encourage some relief in providing jobs, which will naturally improve our economy.
Dear President Obama:
We, the undersigned, urge you to create a federal agency in the spirit of the Works Progress Administration created by Pres. Franklin D. Roosevelt.
We would like to see more TARP funds directed to such an effort, rather than being used to bail out irresponsibility business interests.
The amount of infrastructure repair, etc. that has been initiated under TARP seems to be minimal at best. If we are going to see more jobs created and the unemployment statistics improve in a timely manner, we feel that it is of utmost urgency to pursue this effort.
We would especially like to see more effort directed toward "green jobs", alternative energy sources that will enrich our nation not only by creating jobs, but also by reducing the need for dependence on foreign oil.
Thank you, Mr. President, for your valiant efforts to date in attempting to improve our country's circumstances on many fronts.
