The time for a bottle bill in Minnesota has come! Bottle deposits help to supply recycled materials for a high-demand market, create jobs, and reduce waste. A container deposit bill takes the responsibility of dealing with container waste off of the taxpayer and transfers it to beverage producers and consumers. Unfortunately, Minnesota has fallen behind 11 other states when it comes to passing a container deposit law. This doesn't make sense! Bottle deposit legislation is an obvious and important step to dealing with Minnesota's waste stream and should not be delayed any longer.
