Preserve Wisconsin's Northwoods!

The Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest (CNNF) has been identified as one of the "10 most endangered national forests" in the country.  If the cutting rate goes unchecked, the logging in CNNF will result in extinction of key species, harm the state%u2019s growing tourism and hospitality businesses and contribute to increased global warming pollution. We need to restore the ecological balance to Wisconsin%u2019s Northwoods.

CNNF covers approximately 1.5 million acres in the northern part of Wisconsin, including numerous rivers and more than 300 species of animals. The CNNF consists primarily of northern hardwood, mixed conifer, and aspen trees, along with numerous rivers, lakes and other waterways. Its habitat includes several endangered and threatened species, such as the Northern goshawk, Red-shouldered hawk and American pine marten.
