Members of the UC in Support of Responsible Investment

        We, the undersigned students, faculty, alumni and staff are deeply concerned about the global human rights, environmental, and economic impact of our universities' investment decisions. We encourage the University of California to align its investment policies with its stated principles of public service by adopting responsible investment strategies.

        Specifically, we ask that the UC Regents empower the UC Sustainability Steering Committee to assemble a Working Group, which will incorporate representatives from each of the UC Campus Foundations, to develop a section on Responsible Investments as part of the dynamic UC Policy on Sustainable Practices. We also encourage the UC Regents and all UC Campus Foundations to adopt the Proposal for a Committee on Investor Responsibility to create a positive impact on our society and environment and follow the example set by other renowned colleges and universities for leadership and stewardship.
