Stop Corruption in Lee County Florida

Dear Mr. Newman,Thank for your response and your time to write. With due respect, I wrote the governor because nothing is being done here, Lee County is corrupt from Local to the Justice system.I have been court watching and the Judges and SAO are denying civil rights and violating the Constitution and Statues. The Lee County sheriff and local police departments don't follow their own standards of conduct, And I have tried to make several attempts for help which falls on deaf ears.We need the governor to intervene here and see what is going on, Residents are afraid of our local officials and refuse to speak up, the media will not even get involved. They retaliate when you question or attempt to bring attention, Elected officials refuse to talk to us and we get the run around back and fourth to different offices. No one is being held accountable for violations of the laws but the citizens. No one in elected office has anyone above then to help us, we are told that we put them in office and they need to answer to us, However, They refuse...We really need an investigation here.Mr. Newman, Please we need help here, victims are criminals and civil right attorneys from all over the state will not come here to help because they refuse to deal with this county. Every-time I speak out or write a column in our local paper, One of my kids go to jail or get harassed, My neighbors are tired of being treated like criminals when we call the police for crime and the real crime is hidden from the residents, leaving us unaware and off guard. People are getting hurt here, People are victimized by the system that is meant to protect us. Please inform the governor that we are in desperate need of his assistance. The State Attorneys office is so corrupt, that witnesses are becoming defendants, victims are becoming defendant, The jail is so overcrowded that people are sleeping on the floors and used as entertainment to the guards in the worst possible, degrading ways, the bonds are so high that they can't get out and taxpayers are paying about $140,000.00 a day to keep them incarcerated. Trials are so far behind here that innocent people are taking pleas just to get out. This is not fair and so wrong, I can't tell you the things I've seen and heard for myself in those court rooms, The families that are devastated by the system, children without parents because of the civil rights that are denied here, speedy trials denied, bonds denied, public defenders and court appointed attorneys that refuse defendants rights. Judges and SAO's , Refusing to give people the public defender because they did bond out. They are making deals with people to take the plea or threatens to do years in prisons if go to trial.Domestic Violence victims are victimized by the system and refused help after filing charges with the SAO, Protecting orders denied, violated without any help to the victims. How can this be ? What is going on here, why are we afraid to live in this county ? Please help us get answers, we just can't pack and move, the cost of living here and lack of jobs is holding us here, the system is hurting us, people are coming out of jail in severe debt, no homes or jobs and if they can't pay all the court fines and fees they go back into the system, this is a travesty that people are homeless here and end up back in the system because they do nothing to help them re-enter the society but set them up for a speedy return.I can on forever but I think I've taking enough of your time, However, I do have documents and proof if you are interested. America Injustice has had several airings of the corruption in Lee county by several citizens here and I know from them that it's not just me begging for help. We are all begging for help, Please !Thank you for your time to respond.Respectfully,Marian Scirrotto

Lee County Sheriff's and the Cape Coral Police department have failed to do their jobs an so many occasions, they have caused victims to go to jail, people to die or be in serious condition. The officers are refusing to their jobs as per standard, policies and procedures and are hiding behind their union protection. This needs attention urgently..I have spoke with so many people who are afraid to speak up because of retaliation, Even our local media is afraid to speak out about Lee County. We need a investigation on both the CCPD and LCSO, the citizens are afraid of them and do not feel that they protect or serve the community. Their response time is horrible, and the end result being that the officers do follow procedures. The Lee County jail is violating the civil rights of the inmates, It is so over capacity that inmates are sleeping on the floor, The inmates are seeing horrific things happen in the jail by the correction officers, they are denied their rights to request forms, medical attention and have been used as entertainment by the CO's by being peppered sprayed or tasered. They have their belonging taken away that were purchased in the jail and referred to as contraband, leaving them with the only the cloths on their backs and in need of more commissary money from their families. We have gone to IA for all departments and meet with blind eyes and deaf ears, We need help here desperately, Please  have someone do something to help us here.
