Stop the crackdown against protestors

Following Vladimir Putin's election as Russian President, there have been mass protests and demonstrations in Moscow and St Petersburg claiming vote-rigging. It is not for us to make any judgement upon the result and its legitimacy but the Russian Government's reaction has been far too heavy-handed, taking us back to Communist and Tsarist day's. We respectfully urge the Russian Government to take things more calmly, and at the same time urge the protestor's to stick to nonviolence.
