HISTORY:
On Sunday May 2nd 2010 a 9 month old puppy Bella, owned by Ben Teichberg of Shohola, PA was playing outside in her yard which is surrounded by an electronic dog fence.
Bella is being accused of biting pop singer Vanessa Carlton after running through the fence, chasing her down the road and into the woods, then returning to the property, suffering through the return shock to the property. The 'injury' was quite minor for an 'attack' and we feel that if Bella did leave the property and chase Ms. Carlton, this puppy was likely attempting to play with Ms. Carlton.
The Commonwealth of PA has charged Mr. Teichberg with Harboring a Dangerous Dog.
Bella has been evaluated by a trainer and found to have NO human aggression whatsoever.BELLA HAD HER COURT HEARING ON JULY 7TH AND WON!!! SHE IS FREE! We, the undersigned believe that there has been an injustice inflicted on this family and Bella and are requesting that the Commonwealth re-evaluate the 'evidence', the statute and the conflicting statements made by the witness and do the right thing by withdrawing the charges above.
Bella has been evaluated by a trainer and has been found to have no aggression towards humans whatsoever. She loves to play like any other puppy and we feel that her breed and the status of the alleged victim is the sole reason for these charges. We believe if Bella was a poodle and played rough with Joe Nobody on the street, these charges would never have been pursued.
We support the Teichberg family and Bella in their plight for justice.
