Hearing Aid Coverage for Children in Massachusetts
My daughter Chanelle is 7 years old. She was diagnosed with moderate to severe, bilateral, sensory-neural hearing loss at age 2. I was in total disbelief to find that no insurance companies will cover the cost of hearing aids in Massachusetts, and that all of the state funded programs that help with the cost of the aids are only available to low income families. Insurance should at the very least cover hearing aids for children, as it is an absolute necessity to their education and ultimately, to their ability to be contributing members of society in the future!
Please help us with the passage of House Bill 910, which will mandate insurance companies to cover 80% of the cost of hearing aids. Thank you.
We the undersigned, are asking for your support to pass House bill 910, which will mandate health insurance companies in Massachusetts to cover 80% of the cost of hearing aids.
