We the undersigned oppose all forms of racial discrimination. We oppose Israeli abuses of human, civil, political and national rights of the Palestinian and Lebanese peoples. We oppose Israeli occupation and Apartheid and support the Palestinian right to return. We are part of the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement and call on the entertainment corporation, To You To See, to immediately stop all acts of intimidation that aim to silence members of this movement.
Five days after the Israeli massacre of the Freedom Flotilla, Brian Molko of Placebo declared that he supports Israel. Placebo performed in Tel Aviv. To You To See brought the band to Lebanon and the concert was a failure. The same concert was picketed by Boycott activists. Jihad Al Murr, representing To You To See, filed a lawsuit against Aidoun (Center for Palestinian Refugee Rights), Al-Adab Magazine’s editor in chief Samah Idriss and the Campaign to Boycott Supporters of Israel in Lebanon. We regard this suit as a misappropriation of national resources that aim to serve Zionist oppression in Palestine, Lebanon and elsewhere. We reject the Israeli attempt to separate art and occupation and call on all justice activists to uphold the cultural boycott of the Zionist State.
This international petition demands that entertainment corporations place human needs above corporate profit and drop the deplorable lawsuit immediately.
