Washington, Don't Take Away Marriage Equality!

  • van: Care2 Team

Washington state legalized gay marriage in February, making it the seventh state to do so. But now marriage equality in Washington is at risk.

Referendum 74, which seeks to force voters to confirm the law allowing gay marriage in the state, got enough signatures to qualify to be put on the November 2012 ballot. 247,331 signatures were collected, which is much more than the minimum of 120,577.

The gay marriage law was supposed to go into effect June 7th, but the signatures have put it on hold.

Please tell Washington state voters to vote "Yes" on Referendum 74 and preserve marriage equality! Everyone deserves the same rights and to be treated equally under the law!

Please do not take away marriage equality and vote "Yes" for Referendum 74. Washington state barely passed a law legalizing same-sex marriage -- it was passed in February and should have gone into effect June 7th.

It is wrong to deny people the right to marry!
