Stop Aerial Chemical Spraying over Santa Fe, NM

We, the residents of Santa Fe City and Santa Fe County, ask our legislators to put a stop to the aerial spraying of chemicals over our city and county until we have a clear and honest investigation into what this is and why it is done. We are not referring to the exhaust from commercial airplanes- or contrails- which dissipate quickly and do not change the color of the sky.  We are referring to the aerial spraying of chemicals, which produces chemtrails, or white criss-cross streaks in the sky, and a dull white 'cloud' cover that lingers for hours.  These chemicals then become a part of the air we breathe. 

We can all look up and see with our own eyes that the skies in Santa Fe are not blue for hours after the aerial spraying occurs.  Santa Fe relies on tourism for a healthy economy.  Tourists come to the Land of Enchanchment to enjoy our clear, beautiful high desert skies. People move to Santa Fe in part because of the quality of the air and the beauty of the sky.  But our skies are no longer clear and blue. This WILL impact our economy and it WILL impact our quality of life. 

We all have an interest in protecting the tourism industry and we all have an interest in protecting our health.  And, therefore, we are hereby asking that you, our representatives, halt all aerial spraying of chemicals over Santa Fe County and Santa Fe City until a thorough, third-party investigation delivers an acceptable, detailed report with a positive outcome as to the chemical content of the spraying and the possible health risks to people, animals and plants.  We also want as part of this report, a third party investigation as to who funds and permits aerial chemical spraying, what the purpose is and who actually does the spraying.
