'Free' Speech? White House Wants to Charge You to Protest in D.C.

The Interior Department has advanced a plan to started piling monetary charges onto those who want to protest at places like the White House and National Mall. 

Groups who want to engage in their constitutionally-protected right to demonstrate will be on the hook for:

• a permit application fee
• salaries/overtime for police/security
• cleanup costs
• resodding of grass
• fences and barricades that police and nearby private properties want to put up for added security

In other words, protesting could get prohibitively expensive, which is almost certainly the goal of an administration that shows little regard for the feedback of American citizens, especially those with low income.

Before the Trump administration puts this plan into action, we the people call on our leaders to honor the First Amendment and scrap this plan. No good can come from limiting our right to speak.
