We believe that all children deserve to be free from gun violence.
Whereas there has been a multiple number of massacres in our school classrooms and campuses in recent years (Columbine High School 1999, Sandy Hook Elementary 2012, Virginia Technical College 2007, Santa Monica College 2013, Umpqa Community College 2015, Redlake High School 2005, Oikos University 2012, Independence High School 2016, Marjory Stoneman Douglass High School 2018)
Whereas many innocent children have lost their lives while under the protection and care of the federal government while on school grounds during school hours,
We propose an emergency action of the government to mandate all public schools to immediately install metal protectors on all entrance doors.
Research shows that this has helped many schools in urban areas to abstain from gun violence.
We believe this measure will immediately increase the security of the schools, and serve as well to increase the peace of mind of the parents, and serve as a measure to protect our most valuable of citizens, our children.
This will be only the beginning of legislation that must be enacted to properly protect our students.
