MAny Residents of Kay Jay Ky have lost a lot and are continuing repair and clean up from a from a cloud burst that happened on 07/07/2019. This Morning 07/18/2019 another Flash Flood Happened during the early morning hours devastating the area again and impeding the clean up and repair effort. Little to no funding is available on a state and local level and the residents desperately need the help of Fema for relief and to get back a sense of normalcy. Red Cross has showed up and gave out 125 dollar gift cards to aide in clean up and other expenses but although great and helpful unfortunately it is not nearly enough to even make a dent in the cost and upkeep of efforts to repair and maintain efforts. MAgistrate Tony Golden for the district has talked to certain residents about retaining walls at creeks and causeways but as we all know funding from the state and county is limited. I would like everyone that can see this to sign and share so that repairs and efforts can be made to save peoples homes that might otherwise be condemned due to not having resources available. President Trump we as a community ask that you Declare this a Federal Emergency so that FEMA can step in and give the help that is greatly needed for the sake of our elderly and children residing in Kay Jay Ky.
