Get the Politicians out of D.C.!

This petition is about creating a solution to a problem that has been plaguing the American political system for decades, the influence of corporate lobbyists. These lobbyists are able to create special tax breaks, guaranteed loans, bailouts and special handouts for corporations and big business at the expense of the average American family and citizen.
Have you ever tried to actually speak with your Senator or Congressperson? You probably can't. You can call or stop by the office, but you'll probably get directed to staff or a voicemail. Doesn't that make you feel as if your vote counted? When the lobbyists want to see your Senator or Congressperson, they get sent to the front of the line and walk straight into the office. D.C. politicians love the sound of money.
The first step in the solution is simple: Get The Politicians Out of Washington D.C.! Create the infrastructure to allow a D.C. politician to venture outside of the beltway to vote, attend meetings and attend hearings. They can do all of these things remotely over a laptop. This means they don't have to be in D.C. to represent us, they can represent us right from their office in the area they represent.
More importantly, they aren't captive to the money and influence that corporate lobbyists and beltway "wisdom" that Washington D.C. provides. They can get out of the "bubble" and hear from real, everyday people...everyday.

We the Undersigned agree to the following:
- We are frustrated with the undue influence corporate lobbyists have in our political system.
- We are frustrated with the ability of lobbyists and special interest to hold up the progress that the American people need and deserve.
- We demand that D.C. politicions stop arguing and start fixing problems
- We are tired of D.C. politicians being more beholden to lobbyists and special interests than they are to their own constituents.
The first step in allowing our voices to be heard is to get the D.C. politicians out of D.C. and in front of their constituents more often! The people deserve more access to their politicians than corporate lobbyists and special interests. As long as our elected officials are stuck in Washington D.C. they will remain creatures of the beltway. Whether it is a townhall to voice our concerns about healthcare reform, budget cuts to important programs, or just to see the person that receives tax payer funds as a salary, we deserve the ability to have him/her work in our district/state the entire year.
By creating a secure method of remote voting and attendance, you are empowering the people of the United States of America the opportunity to recapture the ear and actions of our elected officials.
We expect real movement on addressing the influence of corporate lobbyists and special interests. Elections are stubborn things.
