BANNING THE TARGETING OF WOMEN & CHILDREN IN WARS

80 million innocent women and children were killed in wars last century. Civilians, once considered the innocent bystanders of wars, have inconceivably become the prime targets. A graph of the escalating number of civilian casualties last century reveals the unbelievable extent of this heinous crime against humanity. In World War 1 just 6% of casualties were civilians, in World War 2, 66% were civilians and during the Vietnam War more than 80% were civilians. If we do nothing to stop the targeting of women & children in wars, it is expected that more than 120 million will be killed this century in conflicts. If we were to place their coffins side by side they would sadly circle the planet twice.

Children are not patriots or religious zealots, they are just kids whom we have at all times been entrusted to protect, not murder.

Future generations will not accept ignorance, indifference or indecision as a legitimate defense for inaction by any leader or in fact any individual of our generation for not utilizing every means available to put an end to what can only be described as the wholesale slaughter of innocent women & children. Just as our generation harshly condemns those Germans who knew of the heinous crimes against humanity being committed by the Nazis with respect the Jews in World War II, but did nothing, so to will future generations judge us.

You must choose a side. You cannot sit idly on the fence regards what is destined to be recorded by history, as the most heinous crime ever committed against the youngest and most defenseless members of humanity.

You either support the killing of women & children in wars or you are vehemently opposed to it. There is no middle ground to be found, except by those who continually try to justify the unjustifiable.

Please do not sit back and wait until it is you we are watching on CNN, carrying a lifeless child in your arms after a bomb attack. By then, in more ways than one, it will be too late. Your overwhelming desire, will be for revenge.

Please ensure your children & grandchildren will never have to defend your inaction regards this crime against humanity. Make your position clear, by signing the petition, calling for the immediate Banning of the Targeting of Women & Children in Wars

THE PETITION

I the undersigned do hereby petition my government along with all other governments of the world to immediately stop the targeting of women & children during conflicts & wars and proclaim Tuesday (here after to be called, %u201CCharity Tuesday%u201D) of each week, the Peoples Day of Peace, understanding, charity and non-aggression. In proclaiming this day Charity Tuesday my government together with all other governments of the world makes a pledge not to undertake or engage in any hostile actions on this day of peace and charity.

I also petition my religious leaders along with all other religious leaders of the world to proclaim Charity Tuesday the Peoples Day of Peace, charity and non-aggression. I further petition my religious leaders to pass an edict stating that any person of our faith who targets women & children in wars & conflicts, or commits an act of violence or aggression on Charity Tuesday against any person whether they be of our  faith or not, does so without the blessings of my religion, its leaders or followers.

I further petition all independent, rebel, & insurgent organizations and groups  to join in the Peoples Day of Peace by pledging to the peoples of the world that they too will not target women & children and will honor Charity Tuesday, by not undertaking or engaging in any hostile or terrorist actions against any person or group of people no matter what their country of origin or religious beliefs on this day.

Lastly I beseech all my fellow human beings to wholeheartedly embrace and protect both the women & children of the world and the ideals of the Peoples Day of Peace by participation on this day in acts of compassion, understanding & charity toward their fellow mankind no matter what their religion, country, or social standing.
