Build Florida Solar Petition

The broad goal of the Build Florida Solar Petition is to spur state political leaders to actively  support significant development of a broad-based renewable energy industry by demonstrating that this is something the public overwhelmingly wants to happen.

• Rebates to help offset the initial cost of deploying renewable energy production systems, including solar electric and solar hot water;

• Feed-in tariffs that will help increase financial returns over the life of these systems;

• Funding the rebate and feed-in tariff programs with federal monies allocated from the proceeds of a newly (yet-to-be-created) class of US (EE) Savings Bonds specifically created to fund renewable energy projects.

• Reinstate the property tax exemption for qualifying renewable energy projects.
