pig wrestling contest at the Columbia County Fair? these are cruel spectacles have no place in civilized society.
Often during these events, pigs are dragged by their hind legs, slammed to the ground and into barrels, and have their ears and snouts pulled, all the while screaming in terror. The stress and terror this causes cannot be dismissed. Dr. Joseph DiBartolo, an orthopedic surgeon with more than twenty years%u2019 experience in the field has written, %u201CThe anatomical properties of ball-and-socket joints do not permit the torsional stresses imposed on pigs in this event.
http://www.columbiacofair.com/ they are promoting this as the first year they are "wresting pigs" as a contest. This must be stopped! This is suppose to happen July 26, 2008. Don't let this be the first of more cruelty to come.
