Ground, Can, or Bin? - Help get recycling bins in Central Florida's Public Parks

                We have started a petition.

What for, you ask? No, not shorter school days or five star school lunches. We want to see recycling bins in our public parks.

Picture this... You are walking on a beautiful summer day, enjoying the Florida sun. You step on something and you look down. It's a water bottle and you have stopped rite next to a garbage can. This has happened to everyone as some time. Whether it be a water bottle or a soda can or even a newspaper. We have all seen trash in places it shouldn't be.

Now after you get past this fact of life as we know it, think of this. Even if the item is in the trash can and not on the ground, Where does it go? What happens next? It goes into a land fill, gets dumped there and then gets covered with grasses left to rot and omit harmful gasses.

If we took all of the trash that was thrown away but it was able to be recycled our landfills would fill a lot less slowly. We wouldn't need as many. That same water bottle, that same soda can and that same newspaper could have been reused, could have been RECYCLED! We have the technology to recycle. But we do not use it to its full potential. If we can, why don't we? Why not help to save our planet.

For those of you who are reading this and thinking, "This doesn't affect me" or "I will be long gone before any of this comes into drastic effect." You may be rite; it may take a long time to affect you. However, it will affect your children, your grandchildren, their children and so on. It affects the future. The future could come down to where you put your used water bottle. On the ground, in a trash can, or in a recycling bin? It's your choice. The future is in your hands.

sign our petition and get recycling bins into our public parks. Take this article and show it to your family and friends. E-mail the link, to the petition, to all your contacts. Post this page in your coffee or break room at work. Put it up on a community bulletin board. Spread the Word!
