The Hope For Change Campaign
At the moment there is an estimated fact of 12,000 children enslaved, trafficked and forced to harvest the cocoa that we consume. This injustice is happening in Cote Divore along the Ivory Coast. The Hope For Change Campaign was birthed from a letter that was sent to the corporate offices of Starbucks Coffee Corporation in the United Sates. We made them aware of the issue and they responded by saying, they needed customer support in order to make the change of their chocolate products to Fair Trade or with a slave free labeled guarantee on their packages. Here is your chance to give them the customer support they need so that we know for a fact, that we are not consuming products that have been produced by children in slavery. Please join us in us in a Hope For Change!
We the undersigned,
Starbucks Coffee Corporation we have come together to ask you to please change your chocolate to fair trade certified or to provide a slave free label on each of your chocolate products. We know that in the United Kingdom your company has done an extraordinary thing by switching your chocolate to fair trade but we ask, "Why not in the United States?" Before this petition was created we emailed your corporate office and posed the same idea. The response we got was you needed customer support. Here is that support! We will no longer stand for slave labor in our time. We want the guarantee on your menu's and on your packages that we are not consuming products that could be produced by child slaves. At the moment there is an estimated fact of 12,000 children enslaved, trafficked, and forced to harvest our cocoa along the Ivory Coast were 40% of the world's chocolate comes from. Please hear our desperate plea and cry to re-abolish the slavery of our time.
