To the members and management of the rock group Journey:
We've had enough. Enough of the unkept promises. Enough of the change. It is time you hear from your fans, and act accordingly.
We had embraced your choice to replace Steve Perry, only to see Steve Augeri unceremoniously dismissed after eight years of loyal service and hard work. We had given you the benefit of the doubt that Jeff Scott Soto would be the last lead singer for Journey, the one we could look forward to leading the band on its next recorded effort. Now, it seems, he has been shuffled off as well, with no replacement named.
So, as you mull over your next person to fill the singer's slot, consider this: Your fans want Steve Perry.
We want Journey to end on a high note, one farewell tour with the singer we've known and loved at the helm. Let us hear him sing the way only he can - we no longer will settle for imitations. This would be a financial bonanza for the band and for the touring industry, after which you can hold your heads high, having reminded the public of the force Journey was when the band was at its peak.
But, don't trot out another unknown singer to the masses. You'll be destined for state fairs and casinos the rest of your touring days. Journey's music - and fans - deserve better.
