Many people love Ikea for its stylish and affordable Scandinavian design. But its affordability partly comes at the expense of workers at its only U.S.-based factory. Factory workers in Ikea's native Sweden enjoy all the benefits of unionization, including high wages and 5 weeks of mandatory vacation time. Executives in Danville, however, have been hostile towards unionization. They've hired a notoriously anti-union law firm and force workers to attend anti-union meetings.
