Protect our drinking water standards!
The US Environmental Protection Agency is poised to end an internal battle with their own career scientists who want to regulate a chemical linked to thyroid problems in pregnant women and children. The White House and Pentagon oppose setting drinking-water safety standards on the chemical, perchlorate found in rocket fuel, explosives and fireworks. This is despite evidence that shows that citizens will be exposed to perchlorate levels above those deemed safe by the National Academy of Sciences (NAS).
We the undersigned want drinking-water safety standards set on the chemical perchlorate found in rocket fuel, explosives and fireworks. This chemical has created thyroid problems in pregnant women and children. The American people deserve clean water!
