We are a group working hard to get a Multipurpose Facility (2nd sheet of ice), Fitness Center Second Floor and a Senior Center built in Shakopee, Minnesota.
We, the undersigned citizens of Shakopee, Minnesota, pledge our support to the city of Shakopee for moving our community forward by constructing a Multipurpose Facility, Senior Center and adding a second floor to the Fitness Center in a fiscally responsible manner.
Multipurpose Facility
Our Multipurpose Facility would be constructed on the west end of the current ice sheet at the Community Center. It would house a sheet of ice with the ability to transition into artificial turf in the off-season.
A second sheet of indoor ice for Shakopee would add greatly needed ice time for our youth hockey programs, ability to host revenue-generating tournaments and events.
Senior Center
Our Senior Center would provide much-needed services for Shakopee%u2019s rapidly growing senior population.
Shakopee%u2019s residents are aging and need a dedicated place to gather more than ever. A Senior Center would be built on the east end of the Community Center and would provide congregate dining, fitness programs and a safe, inviting place for seniors to get out of their homes and socialize with others.
Fitness Center Addition
Our Fitness Center has grown dramatically over the past 10 years and the current facilities cannot accommodate the needs of our citizens.
A second floor would be added directly above the current facility to alleviate congestion and provide additional services.
