Teach for America in Upstate NY
Teach for America is a program that helps high poverty rate students from all over the United States. Some of the places the program is in is: NYC, Boston, Houston, Phoenix, Miami, Indianapolis, Mississippi Delta, Charlotte, Chicago, and more.
In the cities of Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse, NY there is a stark difference between the economy level and school quality compared to each of the 3 cities surrounding suburbs.
Teach for America is a program where people with strong leadership skills and the desire to teach in high poverty rate schools are placed for a mandatory 2 years in a school. Teach for America could benefit thousands of children in upstate NY (cities of Buffalo, Rochester, and Syracuse). Even if TFA only chose, for example, Rochester then this petition would be fulfilling its duty.

Dear Teach for America,
your program is desperately needed in the cities of Syracuse, NY Rochester, NY and Buffalo, NY. Even if you only choose to start your program in one of these cities it would be beneficial to many children and fulfill the wishes of this petition. The city school districts suffer from very low quality schools and extremely high poverty rates. The surrounding suburbs of each of the 3 cities have low poverty rates and exceptional schools. Upstate NY suffers from stark differences in educational quality because of income.
We, the signed, urge you to begin Teach for America in Buffalo, Rochester, and/or Syracuse, NY so thousands of underprivileged children can benefit from the successes of Teach for America.
