Texans Support the Serve America Act

We, the undersigned, are concerned Texans who urge our Senators to act now to pass the Serve America Act to craft landmark service legislation that elevates service as a core ideal in our democracy. 

We support the expansion of national service and volunteer programs to tackle America's most pressing challenges and create a new era of civic responsibility. We support:

~Expanding full and part-time national service opportunities from 75,000 to 250,000;

~Creating targeted service corps to address key areas, such as education, health, energy, and environmental conservation;

~Helping young people combine service and learning;

~Helping community and faith-based organizations open their doors to millions more Americans (from teens to retirees) who are ready to give time; and,

~Creating a Social Innovation Fund to invest in innovative and proven social strategies.
